Henry’s Early Evening Caberet 2/4/14
Shockorooney – a’ actually got booked tae play somewhere. That is, a’ didnae jist turn up fur an open spot, they actually invited me an’ pit me on the Bill!
Yep, it wiz at ma favourite venue, Henry’s Cellar Bar and it wiz the lovely Miss Annabel Sings whae wiz brave enough tae pit me on her Early Evening Caberet. A’ dinnae ‘hink she had actually seen ma act afore though, cause aftir it she telt me that she didnae ‘hink a’ would be quite as rude as a’ wiz!
That’s whit ye get wi’ the Nob though. Full on hardcore humour comin’ at ye! A’ even made the stripper Cherry Fox blush, an’ that take some dain’!
At the start ae the show Miss Annabel Sings brings on aw the acts so the audience kin get an idea ae whit delights await them.
A’ wiz onstage first and although a’ probably did shock and delight in equal measure, a’ think a got away wit’ it ok. 😉
It wiz guid crack though an’ fortunately the audience were an open minded bunch. That’s hoo a’ hae tae be careful where a’ gig cause maest folk dinnae understan’ where a’ am comin’ fae. They jist hear the filth, no’ the underlying genius behind it.
As a’ wiz officially booked a’ thought that a’ better dae some pre-planned shit instead ae jist fartin’ aboot as a’ usually dae. A’ gave the audience the choice ae which poem a’ would recite an’ they went wi’ Porn Addict. As a’ said, they were a cultured mob. Then as a’ special treat fur them, fur the first time in Henry’s a’ sung the song that started it aw – Suzie Hay.
The Grumpy Magicians
The Grumpy Magicians certainly lived up tae their name as they entertained the crowd wi’ some ae their miserable humour. They went doon very well and had a lovely trick fur the girl whae wiz brave enough tae go onstage. Ye kin watch their show here.
Keara rounded the evening aff in a lovely fashion by daein’ a bit ae stand up and then a monologue fae yin ae her characters, fur which she has jist been commissioned by the BBC tae dae a radio series.
So guid fun wiz had, although ye couldnae tell that fae the faces ae The Grumpy Magicians.
