Little Bit of Theatre – 12/5/14

Little Bit of Theatre (3)

Although Nob had appeared at last months Little Bit of Theatre which was held at The 13th Note, when Marta said she had a space I volunteered my services. She asked me if I could do some political poetry which indeed I was very happy to do as most of the time people hate me when I do it, but at least this time I would be doing it as booked. So at least my conscience would be clear….or so I thought. lol

This event was held at The Roxy and I decided to ease myself in gently by doing two poems which are not that controversial, Ordinary Punter and Falling.

Then I read my Scottish Independence poem which I am not quite sure is stage ready or if people understand exactly what I am getting at with regard to the ‘name’ and why I don’t think it wise to vote period. I think it needs to be edited and perhaps just left on my website rather than given public airings but anyway, as Basil Fawlty said, I think I got away with it alright. πŸ™‚

Marta Adamowicz

Little Bit of Theatre (2)

Marta was on after me and she got 90% of the audience to sit around the front of the stage so she could recite a childrens story she wrote called Alys and the Dragon. It went down really well and I look forward to hearing more of her stories in future.

Adam V.Chesire

Adam V.Chesire entertained us with two poems at different points of the night. this was the second one he performed.

Noma + Luminous Monsters

Little Bit of Theatre (7)

To round the evening off in style were Noma, who also played at the last LBOT, and Luminous Monsters collaborating their particular brands of sonic weirdness to produce a very engaging visceral experience. I don’t think the video does it justice and it is one of those things that you need to experience to get the proper effect.

There were other performers that night also including Yuan Mekong who also performed an very interesting performance art musical set integrating an old computer game’s sound and visuals, Adam V.Chesire performing two sets of poetry, Nixxi Rox doing some Burlesque and Joseph Goss and Dan Murray doing comedy sets.

Yep, another fine night of entertainment and thanks to the lovely Marta for organising. πŸ™‚
