I had not long met Emma and instead of taking my son to see Melt Banana I to her to an experience she’s not likely to forget in a hurry.
I had seen Acid Mothers Temple in Edinburgh many years ago where I danced by myself at the front of the stage the whole gig. This time I went with my video camera and tripod so was a bit more controlled.
I filmed Barb Jungr’s shows at the Usher Hall in 2011 and 2012 so when I heard she was appearing in Edinburgh as part of the Festival I got in contact with her and she set myself and my son up with front row seats.
It wasn’t long before I had my son back in The Barrowland, this time to see the Alt Country (Americana) band Wilco led by Jeff Tweedy.
Michael Rother was a member of the legendary Krautrock bands Neu! and Harmonia and has since went on to have a great solo career. I took my son along to the QMU in Glasgow to see him perform live.
