It was building model aeroplanes made of plastic
He did it after school before his sister’s got home
When they were finished, they were hung on elastic
Barbara had an ambition to be a full time cook
She practised with her mummy until she was full
Daddies Sunday dinner was her favourite dish
Her doughnuts sold like hot cakes at her local school
Elaine whiled away days watching old wartime films
Strange interest for a girl but on guns she was hooked
Her mother didn’t stop her and her father did not care
That all stopped when for carrying a firearm she was booked
George was a writer but he was yet to find that out
As a form of destiny, he gathered real life information
By playing down the beach and chasing all the girls
Getting kicked at football and striving for elation
All the boys and girls we see running in the playground
Our future is in their hands they are our Hitler’s of tomorrow
Everyone has a special talent and for that we must be thankful
Let us pray their generation brings us more than all our sorrow
Cheers!
