I had bought 2 tickets to go and see the Reggae legend that is Jimmy Cliff at BaAD in Glasgow and although my son is not a particular fan of Reggae he was designated as my accompaniment for the evening, seeing as how I couldn’t find anyone else who wanted to purchase the other ticket.

When we got to the Gallowgate area we were met by the sight of thousands of Glasgow Celtic supporters who were celebrating their team winning the Domestic Treble for the 3rd year in a row.

They were expecting the Team in an open top bus to pass through with the trophies on display but were left disappointed as the Police changed the route due to safety concerns. Boo.

Once inside the venue I made a beeline straight for the front to where we stood for the Tangerine Dream concert a couple of months ago and I very quickly got chatting to Marie and Jock who came down from Inverness for the gig.

It turns out that they go to the Teuchters comedy club  up there regularly and they had heard of Nob Stewart as he is due to perform a headline show there on November 8th.

After the soundcheck was completed a Reggae/Ska band performed and they were pretty good but the most charming thing was that the lead singer let his daughter onstage to at least pretend she was singing.

I was a bit worried if Jimmy would be as good as I thought he would be because he is getting on a bit and I had read one dodgy review on the internet that he can’t hit the notes that he used to but I needn’t have worried as he and the band were absolutely brilliant.
I got him to take this photo on the way to the car for him to at least do something to earn his free ticket.

He used to be more happy to take pics but now that his friends see me on Instagram doing many silly poses he doesn’t find my antics as fun as they used to be. Poor lad.
