I heard a track from Beth’s new album, Weather Alive, and knew I had to get a ticket for her tour.
Emma and I were down the front and when she mentioned Covid, I said, “There is no covid” to which she kind of apologised because she thought I said, “I have covid”.
When I reiterated what I said she said, “Exactly! It’s all a big fucking scam. Glad we’re all on the same page”.
The Scotsman reviewed the gig and started it with this quote, “Taking the stage with her five-piece band, Beth Orton sparkled – literally – in a sequined frock. “Lovely dress” came the automatic heckle. The best they’ve ever seen, some shouted later on”.
You would have thought that my comment and her response would have been more newsworthy.
I left my camera in my car by mistake so I only have a few clips that Emma took on her mobile. Hope you enjoy them.
