So I decided to host the quiz on Hogmanay, even though most people here don’t know what Hogmanay is, they if fact call New Year ‘Christmas’, which I find a little strange but that’s how the shops try to get them to buy more expensive presents for each other every year instead of just a token present which is like we used to do at Christmas in days gone by, before commercialisation set in.

Alper turned up to the quiz already, as we say in Scotland, ‘half-jaked’. Basically, he had had a few but was just about managing to hold it together.

Here was the New Year winning Quiz team celebrating with their shots of ‘Sex on the Beach’. No expense spared.

One of this weeks losing teams taking it in good sporting fashion.

This long haired mysterious lady was very alluring.

What? I’m busy. I’ve got a whole pub full of people asking me to play songs I don’t like.

I played a few Queen songs for Alison because I didn’t know any modern hits. She seemed happy enough with them but it was time for them to leave the party as the bells had gone and I think Alper had had his fill.

Time for a last dance before a change of venue as the music wasn’t to our taste once I had stopped playing Gene Vincent and Buddy Holly.

This barman was a nice guy and he since has moved to Cyprus. He was telling me how beautiful it is in the Turkish side.

A Happy New Year picture with Levent. Nice work, with the decorations and supplying food earlier in the evening for quiz attendees.

We then moved onto Roadhouse where it was absolutely Jam Packed and they were charging 25TL for entry fee. Fortunately Jolanda was very persuasive with the staff there and got all the expats in for free, just to make the place even more full. This lovely couple were at the table we joined.

The guy insisted he take a photo of us, and you know me, I never refuse such a request.

The beers were going down a treat at this point. Even Jolanda was sinking a few and she is normally a one can Dan.

Here is the Garson who Jolanda sweet talked into getting us in for free. I probably should have tipped him.

Time for me to do a mysterious sexy photo. Whaddaya think? Do I pull it off?

I bumped into the singer from Blue Life again. One of these days I’ll remember his name.

Trying on our masks and hats became a popular pastime for some punters.

I always grab this Roadhouse barman for a selfie when I can. He was quite busy tonight but was polite enough to stop for one.

A nice team photo of the Ladies looking happy.

The crowd was getting too much for my nerves though and we left the party early, well I say early, I think it was about 3am. We found another party in the street though.

I joined them for a bit and I had much more room to manoeuvre than Roadhouse.

All in all, a great New Year’s party.
