Met a Geezer down the boozer
Was an old, old soldier
Talked and talked for hours
Drunk too many liqueurs

There was no way out
Had to scream and shout
Stopped for breath a little
I think he heard a whistle

Travelled to foreign lands
Marched along to army bands
Describing all the action
How he ended up in traction

Never witnessed wash brain
Or felt worse things than pain
No more deserved to suffer
I’d hate to meet his lover

Escape from jailhouse rock
I couldn’t see the lock
Caught him off guard
When I hit him very hard

Banged me up for double time
People see it as a crime
Guarantee it was not my fault
My jerking fist I could not stop

I only want some sympathy
To ease my poor new misery
You would have done the same
The beast I had to tame

Cheers!
