I saw a beautiful girl one evening
Who stunned me with the sparkle in her eyes
Although it was her lips that gave her smile
Power over the knees of all the guys

It did not take that much to make her smile
A three-note intro to a famous song
By the guitarist in the small dingy bar
Caused her to leap up and joyfully dance along

I then had the good fortune to sit beside
The girl who also had a miraculous behind
Every time she leapt up from her chair
I admired the saviour of mankind

She had a friend with her who was quite nice
So I started talking to her to see if I could invite
My good self into their fun and happy world
Cause to dance with them would be a prime delight

I found out that they were young Polish students
In Edinburgh to find work pretty snappy
They said their country is not as special as this one is
That’s why they were both so ecstatically happy

I found that hard to take seriously
My impression of Scotland mostly opposes
The one they hold so dear to their sweet hearts
Sometimes it’s hard to see under our noses

I bought them drinks even though I am Scottish
Do not believe the lies about money
Scottish men can be generous to a fault
Especially if we think we can score with a honey

After buying drinks for them all night long
They said they had the time of their young life
And left without giving me fellatio
So I had to go home and wake the wife

Cheers!
