After I left the School which I talked about in my previous blog, on the way to the bus I spotted a Homemade Market like the one I used to go to in Konyaalti so I took the boy to check it out further.
As I got closer I noticed there was another Art Exhibition in the same venue as my friend Agnes displayed some of her artwork a couple of years previously.
This time the Exhibition was from students of an Art School run by the lady below. I would have been able to give you more information about her if my wife hadn’t thrown out the leaflet and business card that she gave me.
Here I am giving her a quick interview before doing a full tour of the gallery.
Here is one of the students of the class standing beside some of her work.
This young lad was also in the class.
This was one of the ceramic items on display, which I was rather taken with as it reminded me of a Parrot drawing that I done in High School that was displayed outside of the class to much ridicule. No-one could see the inherent genius in it. Picasso would have loved it, I’m sure.
The two most famous Puppets in Turkey, Karağoz and Hacivat made an appearance.
Every creature in this painting has it’s tongue out so I felt obliged to join them. It would have been rude not to.
I have seen this painting on more than one occasion in various locations in my time here and someone made a pretty decent attempt to do it here also. It is known as Kambulumbağa Terbiyecisi, or Tortoise Trainer in English.
After the Art Exhibition we went outside to take a look at the Arts and Crafts for sale.
If I had the money I would maybe have bought this one for myself.
Instead, we had to settle for a few pastries I bought from the homemade food stalls, which my wife also appreciated when we got back home. Just a pity she threw out the info about the lady as I was going to say that if you were interested in purchasing any of the photos below I could have passed on her details.
Oh well, that’s life I guess. She has been warned though. 😉
The Photos
Cheers!
