I came back to Antalya for a job that didn’t materialize and instead of going back to Marmaris I decided here to be closer to my son as living on the other side of Turkey from him negates the reason why I came back to live in Turkey around this time last year.

So I took Aynur to live with my friends Alper and Alison and on the way to the beach one day we passed this bus stop. I have to say they done a great job of replacing the broken window. If it wasn’t for the fact they left all the broken glass at their arse I would have probably not noticed it all.

At the beach, once Alison had got in the water, Alper got his harpoon out went in after her.

Aynur wanted me to put some stones on her face so I took that to extremes and started piling them as high as I could and put a threw rocks on her body as well, so by the time I had finished with her she was very stoned.

Here is a lady exhibiting a Burqini, the latest fashion of Ladies Swimwear in Muslim countries. Very sexy.

I took my son to the beach one night and I think he was a bit excited that I had come back here to live as he had a mad 5 minutes when I was trying to take his photo.

It continued as we walked home.

One morning Aynur woke me up at 6 o’clock to ask if I wanted to go to the Beach, which considering I had got to sleep at around 2am, it wasn’t exactly high on my list of things to do at that time. Still, she prepared a nice breakfast so it wasn’t too bad.

Alper has Wednesday’s off work so he likes to do something and it usually involves going to Sarisu beach for a picnic. On this occasion we didn’t get there until around 4pm and I didn’t buy any chicken beforehand to go along with Alison’s pre-prepared menu so I bought some at the picnic area.

However, it was rock hard due to the fact it was frozen and it took a bit of effort to get the pieces separated but once we had managed that Alper done a good job of cooking them thoroughly.

I hadn’t worn my Marmaris Hotel T-Shirt for a while and I felt like Pink suited my mood that day. Alper didn’t hold back his admiration for the speakers of mine that you can see in the background. In fact he practically demanded I give them to him for his birthday four days later.

After the beers we played cards for a while until the lack of sunlight made playing impossible. I also impressed Aynur with the two card tricks that I know.

Instead of giving him his much desired speakers I chipped in with Alison to get Alper a cake for his birthday. It wasn’t what he wanted but he did seem genuinely happy with the surprise.

A few days later he said he was still waiting for the speakers, to which Alison said ‘you’ll have a long wait’, so I didn’t need to.

A piece of one of my teeth had fallen out so I had to pay a visit to the Dentist to get it sorted as it felt like it was cutting my tongue every time I spoke. I tried to patch it up with some Juicy Fruit Gum that Alison had but it was still really annoying, so off to the dentist I popped.

She said she could maybe save the tooth by doing some root canal work for 300TL but it only had a 40% chance of working or the alternative was to have it pulled out for 100TL. Well, purely as a matter of economics I had to plop for the latter and out it came, leaving a fairly big hole in it’s place and increasing the size of the gap in my teeth as it was directly beside where I had a tooth out previously. Now I can only chew on one side of my mouth.

A couple of days later I went back to the dentist to get them cleaned which was a lot more uncomfortable than having the tooth pulled. I had an audience of my wife and son for that spectacle as they wanted to spend some time in town. It was a bit hot though so afterwards we went to Mark Antalya Shopping centre for their air conditioning more than anything.

I had to get a couple of photos outside the Joker shop, which sells toys of all descriptions. My son made a beeline for the Nerf Guns, which to be honest, do not impress me at all and not just because he does my head in when he fires the darts at me and his mother.

I think it’s pretty ridiculous getting children hooked into gun culture. My son reeled off terms like barrel, stocks, magazines and assault grips as if they were everyday words that a 10 year old should know. He ended up getting another gun for his birthday and spends half his time watching overgrown adult children talk about them on youtube. God help us all.

We then went for a bite to eat and I went against my better judgement and let him get a child whopper meal at Burger King. At 11.50TL I think they must have seen me coming.

I only spent 7TL for my first Patlican Pide which was totally awesome and great value.

We went to a few other toy shops so the boy could check out the Nerfs while Aynur and I looked at the cuddly toys.

We had a 1TL ice cream each before leaving which was pretty tasty despite the lady serving them looking like she wanted to end her life there and then.

I try not to give my son too much crap to eat but it is hard as companies obviously don’t have any morals in how they advertise their shit to children. I mean take a look at this a syringe full of chocolate and they have the cheek to put a doctor on it!! The mind boggles.

Alper’s nephew Oluğcan sometimes comes to visit and Aynur was quite taken with his Spongebob cuddly toy. She sometimes refers to me as Spongebob and she insists that that is a compliment although I’m not too sure.

I spotted these Lion shades in a shop and although I thought they suited me I didn’t purchase them as I am trying to grow up. Still, I thought they were worth a selfie.

I got sent a photo from my friend Turker informing me of my first appearance on Turkish television. A group called Old Town Blues which I met in Kaleiçi had been on a television program called Rising Star and they used this photo I had taken in the intro to them performing.

Here is the clip of their appearance on the show with my photo appearing at the start.

The time came for Aynur and myself to move into our own apartment and on the last day with Alper and Alison we headed back to Sarisu beach for another picnic. I went for a swim but again the fish started biting my legs so I got out pretty sharpish.

Later in the evening Alper and Alison went for a late night swim.

Later that evening I was in my apartment and the unpacking and cleaning began and at the point of writing four days later, is still ongoing.

Thanks to Alper and Alison for being their usual hospitable hosts but it does feel good to be in my apartment after 3 months on the road, so to speak.
