I’m lucky that a friend of the band is a friend of mine and hooked Emma and I up with tickets for the second time to see the amazing Blockheads with Mike Bennett taking the place of Ian Dury. Here are the support band, The Sons of the Desert.
These guys may be getting on a bit but there are not many bands as amazing in so many styles as this group.

At the Edinburgh Festival in 2024 the singer Mike needed someone to appear in his show It’s Grimms Up North, which was about Rik Mayall’s Lost Tapes, as a troll. I done it one night but didn’t think the 30 seconds was enough to justify travelling 20 miles there and back every night for another 5 nights.
