So after parking up we headed towards Sauchiehall Street and passed this building which is like many other very impressive old buildings in Glasgow.
I have been studying what is known as the Mudflood of Tartaria recently and when you walk around Glasgow and Edinburgh there would appear to be plenty of supporting evidence that we are not being told the whole truth about our recent ‘His-Story’.
There is an interesting youtube channel called Rebel Without A Pause which goes into this topic regarding Glasgow in particular, which is worth checking out if the topic intrigues you.
As it turned out though, the poster had been taken down by the venue as the event was over a month ago.
So I told the boy we would walk around Glasgow and as we did he battered my ear drums demanding I take him to Starbucks, which is against my principles of spending money on expensive shite we don’t need.
I said I would think about it and then he said he wanted to go to the toilet there so as we passed by the Royal Concert Hall I said that they have a toilet we could use.
We actually got right up to the door where I had to give the tickets before he realised that I had other plans for the evening.
It is becoming something of a thing with me to give my son awesome surprises for which he is barely grateful. Well, apart from the one that started it off, the Slayer gig.
This time I had got tickets to see what is referred to as the Worlds Greatest Pink Floyd Tribute Show, Brit Floyd.
My son said he isn’t a big fan of Cover Bands, and to a certain extent I agree with him, there is nothing like seeing the originals, but as I knew that is never going to happen with Pink Floyd I said that this would be a fine substitute.
As we went to the auditorium we passed this painting which as it had a dark theme to it, my son thought was cool, man.
It reminded me of the idea behind the Another Brick In The Wall video, where all the children turn out like Zombies thanks to schooling.
In fact the theme of tonight’s gig was a 40th Anniversary celebration of The Wall album, but with a few other of their greatest songs thrown in for good measure.
There was no denying that they put on a great show and it was awesome to hear all those great songs done live in such a fashion.
Even the boy said ‘That’s just class’, at the end of Comfortably Numb.
Huge round of applause for the band and they certainly earned it. I would recommend anyone to go and see them if you are into The Floyd. They do not come close to disappointing.
Here are some video highlights of the show.
