Colin Higgins is a Glasgow-based stand-up comedian and a rising star on the Scottish comedy circuit. His TV credits include the Billy Connolly docuseries Billy and Us on BBC Scotland. Away from comedy, Colin has an incredibly powerful backstory. Growing up in Largs, he was targeted as a schoolboy by notorious child abusers Charles O’Neill and William Lauchlan. At just 15 years old he found the courage to blow the whistle on the men, who were later jailed by a judge who described them as despicable and evil. Colin has since used his comedy to help raise money for mental health charities including Brothers In Arms.
I have met Colin at a few gigs we were both performing in and after he shared my David Icke interview on facebook saying I am mixing with the big names. I asked him on saying, ‘You may not be a big name but you are certainly big’. Thankfully he laughed and we ended up having a very interesting chat.
