Last night I tested out my theory
I got as high as a jumbo jet
I found I could turn on the magic
To impress the low life jet set
I also came to realise that losers
Are actually the salt of the earth
In culture we are far too straight
That’s why there is a laughter dearth
Whatever happened to having fun
Laughing until it hurts your eyes
We freak out if someone smokes a ciggie
Personal choice is on the demise
I cannot stand how we give in
To forces we think are great
The hemp plant does so much good
Especially in a world of hate
Yet we tolerate its illegality
As if somehow nature got it wrong
All the cultures of the past
Sang its beautiful heartfelt song
So I have decided to embrace it
This year I will follow my bliss
I am going to pretend life is fab
So that I don’t have to reminisce
Bill Hicks got it right in so many ways
Smoking mary jane should be mandatory
Especially for CEO’s of large corporations
Whose nature is currently predatory
They may act with good intentions
But they are governed by money
They need to take a stand for morality
Then their future will be sunny
They were the ones that employed
Scare tactics to demonise marijuana
So that the oil companies could block
Our divine right to cheap fuel nirvana
So let us claim back what is ours
What they are doing is criminal
How dare they interfere with my life
When their influence should be nominal
Freedom is what we all claim to want
But nobody stands up and claims it
So I hope this poem helped a little
Now it is time for you to do your bit
Cheers!
