The Buddhist meditation group meet up on Monday nights
To chant some foreign mantras and pray for some insight
They recycle bottled questions, never question what they’re
told
They sit in silence for half-hour spells, then go back into the
cold

Every day at home they pray, morning, noon and night
Peace of mind is there to find, staring at the light
But progress happens slowly and their practice can be stale
But if they are to become enlightened, they must wag their
master’s tail

I wonder what they’d do if I didn’t like their group
But turned up every week seeking honest truth
Raising issues of concern, questioning their answer book
Diverting the group’s awareness to the places they’ve not
looked

Living in the present, is all well and good?
I think some fucking action is required to lift my present
mood
I would donate my tongue to ask, who profits from their
group?
Is the whole truth being told? Because all I see is an honest
crook

Honest Crook

Cheers!
