There is a job I theoretically want
That would change my life around
But it would require me to grow up
Stop playing the circus clown

I have a way of looking at the world
That sees me fail at everything
Therefore, I do my best to screw things up
Before I even open my mouth to sing

I have certain beliefs and thoughts
About the way the world is run
But if I allow them to rule my life
I will never have any fun

My ego tells me I am holier than thou
That I should not compromise
But even the greats in this world
Had to tell a few white lies

I will need to learn to play the game
To get to where I want to be
I do not make the rules
So why should I let them bind me?

But tomorrow I will make an application
To sell a large chunk of my soul
Everyone knows you need to sacrifice
To achieve a long-term goal

It is time for me to buckle down
To be all that I possibly can
I am tired of living in neverland
Playing the part of Peter Pan

I will volunteer to be responsible
To hold up my end of the deal
If by some miracle I get the job
I promise not to squeal

Although I am sure it will not last
Going by the history of my past
I will somehow upset the boss
Then tell them that it’s their fucking loss

So maybe I shouldn’t bother
Trying to fit into this fucked up system
I will continue to let people say,
“How did the ‘Blarney Stone’ kiss him?”

Somehow, I always seem to get by
Not contributing to a banker’s pocket
But the time is fast approaching once again
When up my arse, I need to put a rocket

Cheers!
