I knocked many closed doors only to have them slam shut
I could have pushed but I hate to come uninvited
There are enough rapists polluting the airwaves
When they trick you with logic, they are delighted

Nobody listens to a word that I say
I could talk all day and still no-one would hear
I gallantly give of my all and ask for no favours
But dying alone is what I most fear

I laid myself bare in ship shape bristol fashion
Ejected from me all the garbage I store
Looking for mates to rise from the dead
It appears I only succeeded to bore

I tore open the veil between lost dimensions
Wandered around where danger lurks
Hoping to find a way back to heaven
Willing to try anything that works

The only way was to go back to the start
Maybe I should have thought of that sooner
Instead, I followed the long-winded spiral
To discover that I am a tuneless crooner

So the end is approaching the fork in the road
I’ll take the high road and see you on yonder
I am willing to talk to any soul on the sidewalk
If only one of you were willing to join me and ponder

Cheers!
