I quite enjoyed working in the Marmaris Hotel for a month but as I was only getting a bed and food for my efforts and getting maltreated the same as the rest of the staff by one particular individual I decided it was time to look for something else. There was an advert in a website called Marmaris Recruitment looking for someone who knows the internet and would be able to work for accommodation as well as cash in a rather posh Villa!
I arranged to meet the gentleman who placed the advert, who was a Syrian Doctor called Joe, in my lunch break and after he talked to other candidates he got back to me to offer me the job which I gladly accepted. It would be nice to live in a house where I could get my own room too, although the first thing I done was tell my Fiance that she could come and live with us and perhaps I could even get her help too.
July 18th
So I got settled into the Villa and then my wife joined me a couple of days later. We would work during the day and then spend some time exploring the town. Here we are at the Rangers Supporters Bar having a few Beers one afternoon.
Opposite that Bar is the Liverpool Supporters Bar where they had a special offer which I’m sure helped to lure in many passers-by in Sports Bar street. The other Bars were Man Utd and Newcastle Utd. The Celtic Bar was around the corner which is probably just as well it wasn’t in the same street as the Gers one.
Later that Evening we went to Rumours Bar which was my favourite bar in Marmaris. Not because they served Pink Pussy but because they played music that I could actually tolerate, and the owners were very nice too.
Aynur had made me a Black Ceramic Angel necklace which I happily displayed on my sunburnt chest.
July 19th
I took Aynur to Içmeler Beach for a day out as it is a bit more upmarket than Marmaris Beach and it was Sunday, my day off. I also took with me a copy of Malcolm Hardee’s Autobiography which was edited by John Fleming, who gave it to me along with another biography of Janey Godley’s which he also edited after he saw my show at the Edinburgh Festival called Mad Mental Stories.
Funny thing is that in the book Malcolm tells a story of being at a Sex Show in Amsterdam with a girl where he ended up part of the show eating a banana out of a pussy…and the exact same thing happened to me, except I was with my first wife. I did let Aynur know about that before I married her. It seemed only fair.
Thankfully she didn’t hold it against me…..but she would never look at a banana in the same way again.
July 20th
Aynur fancies herself as a bit of a Mermaid, or at least a dangerous Siren and so she posed with this one in a shopping Mall in Marmaris.
The next evening we went back to Içmeler beach with Joe doing the driving this time which was a lot easier than the bus.
We had a couple of drinks in a bar on the beach front and there were certainly ‘No Hassles’ at this point.
July 21st
The next day we were working in the Villa but had to go to own for some basic groceries which gave Aynur the chance to pose beside the lovely flowers.
While I chose to pose in front of the Dirty Blue shop. We are a match made in Heaven, eh.
July 22nd
Back to Marmaris Beach front for a walkabout and on the way there I spotted this statue of a Lady and a Ball-less man….so two ladies then.
Here is a Statue of Atatürk doing the famous Hidden Hand of Freemasonry pose.
It seems like no self respecting Harbour in Turkey is not complete without a Pirates of the Caribbean Pirate ship. The bigger the better apparently.
July 23rd
Here is a view of the Pool of the Villa. It was one of my jobs to maintain the pool but it really was a bit of a struggle to do so as it had quite a few problems with it and we only got to use it a couple of days. I added tonnes of chemicals to it to try and get the pH right but I could never get it to a neutral state. I did start and stop an electric pump and closed a few valves which took me back to my days working as a chemical operator.
Fortunately in the site there was a much larger pool only 5 minutes walk away and the cleaning for which I wasn’t responsible, so Aynur and I would have at least one daily swim there.
I get bored quite easily in Pools though but at least it got me to do some exercise and get away from the computer for a while, which is always a good thing.
Here is Aynur enjoying the fresh sprinkler water as a way to get rid of the chlorine.
Later that night I took her to Bar Street which is really like Hell to me, such is my out of date-ness with modern music tastes.
I needed a Tequila just to be able to tolerate the intense high energy beats there were about to be blasted in my direction.
I had arranged to meet Eddie and Joyce from the Hotel team and Chico was there too. It was good to see them again and introduce the lady who was responsible for me not chasing every piece of skirt at the hotel….like the other male reps seem to have in their contract to do so.
July 24th
The Villa was situated just outside of the main town of Marmaris and on the way there, there are quite a few statues. Here is one of some Ottoman guy promoting the Ball Earth Theory.
Although this isn’t a statue per se, it does have a Turkish feel to it. I am always amazed how it is apparently a good thing to have statues of people with Guns everywhere and nobody bats an eyelid.
Here is another example. This one standing on a Pyramid motif and giving the freemasonic pose of misdirection. Look! Over there! Not here! Ok, maybe I have watched a few too many videos on youtube on these topics. lol. Lol, by they way, stands for Lucifer Our Lord. Just in case you didn’t know. 😉
July 25th
Aynur and I went for a walk in the evening and discovered a childrens park which had lots of balloons left over from a Party. Well, the aforementioned Malcolm Hardee was famous for doing a Balloon dance so I did my version of it…..I saved the naked version for the bedroom.
Aynur meanwhile, took them for a ride on the slide.
July 28th
The weekly bazzar was in town so we paid it a visit to get some groceries in for the week.
I let Aynur chose what she is going to feed me and let her buy some Olives if I have some change left after buying the essential vegetables and fruits.
Later that night she tried to ride Joe’s bike which was entertaining for me if ultimately unsuccessful for her.
July 29th
We had to go in to town to post some goods that Joe was selling and after we had visited the PTT (Post Office) we went to a Mall where I could be one of the cool gang….for at least a quick photo anyway.
After that I embodied my Super Hero persona.
Walking back to the bus station I spotted this bicycle which was certainly original.
Can you see what I done here?
What song do you think the Statue band are playing?
Here is my guess.
The Photos
Cheers!
