It was September in Antalya so that meant it was time for another Oktoberfest. I have been every year since it started in 2010. Here was this years line up.
I went along on the Sunday evening this year and caught the last 3 acts.
The Mob
The first band on were The Mob. I must say I’m quite impressed with the quality of talent the Mafia are recruiting these days. 😉
Sibel Tüzün
Sibel Tüzün was next on and she certainly went down well with the locals.
Goran Bregovic
I had never heard of Goran Bregoviç before but a few of my Turkish lady friends had and they were swooning through most of his set. I’m not sure if it was his music or dashing good looks. Probably a combination of both.
Crowd Scenes
Yaşar, the owner of Shaker Pub, put me behind the counter of the stall they had there to attract some attention there by having me dance. I happily obliged in return for beer. He then took the video camera and went for a walk around the crowd.
It was my birthday the next day and at the end of the evening Sevinç sang Happy Birthday to me, which you can see at the end of the video. She actually took me out for a birthday dinner a couple of days later. 🙂
Of course, I needed a photo taken with Rob’s Beer Goggles.
My mate Turker and his wife to be Gözde.
With me old mukka Pat, sporting a lovely moustache, mainly on his wife’s insistence. 🙂
And here is Latife. Well, if I was Pat, I’d grow a moustache for her too!
With my good friend Serap, in her classic Rock Chick pose, along with her father who was obviously game for a laugh.
With Sevinç and two of her friends who I had my photo taken with when I met them at last years Oktoberfest, so I had to continue the tradition.
With Sevinç and poor Pam who had to listen to me rattle on about government control for 5 minutes while she was out trying to enjoy herself. lol.
I am with Oğur who is the guy behind the company who runs Oktoberfest. We met last year so he too knew the protocol.
I had chatted back and for with Ebru on facebook but we hadn’t actually met. Imagine her surprise when she spotted me behind the Shaker Pub bar!
Where else would you meet the Canadians but at the Bar, talking about Ice Hockey and Maple Syrup I think.
I met Jasmine for the first time, even though when I met her the second time, she couldn’t remember meeting me. Nothing to do with too much Efes of course. 😉
This has to be my favourite photo of the night. 😉
Yaşar showing us how to drink two bottles of Efes hands free. He can sell more beer if you do it that way. 🙂
I wasn’t focusing on serving so much as dancing with the barmaids.
Can you spot me in the expat scene?
The Photos
Cheers!
