Os Mutantes to me seemed like a band there were of a distant past whom I would never get the chance to see live, much like the band Love who I saw, who only had Arthur Lee from the original band, Os Mutantes only have Sérgio Dias but he carries the spirit of the band well and obviously chooses bandmates who can do the original band justice.
They were ably supported by Skloss.
Being the legends that they are I was surprised that the gig wasn’t sold out but that meant all the more space for those that were there to dance and we most certainly did that as it was impossible not to groove to the fantastic band.
They didn’t have a setlist but I did manage to acquire the main man’s plectrum which is now stuck to the poster of them I lifted at the Bill Callahan gig at the same venue.
Here is my review of the gig.
