I feel my brain tie up in knots and expand simultaneously
When I think I have grasped it, a new avenue appears to look
I am still a young man and I am beginning to wonder
That perhaps I could use my time more effectively
Maybe I should try to achieve something with my life
In my later years I could study god more objectively
Maybe then I will somehow prove that god does exist
I will be able to look back on the things I did achieve
I will realise that god didn’t make them happen
I did and it was because I had the faith to believe
Maybe evil is running this world but at least it acts
That’s because it threatens people with punishment
If you choose to serve it and do its wicked deeds
The devil will take your soul and there is no way to circumvent
That is pretty good motivation for getting your arse in gear
So from now on I may invent an evil god for me to serve
I could give myself some deadlines for worthwhile objectives
Then bite my tongue extremely hard if I start to lose my nerve
The worshipping of any deities could in fact be a mind trick
Just to get us to do the things that we know we should
For we are great at making excuses when it comes to taking action
So the threat of eternal damnation can do us the world of good
The new world order that is appearing in front of our eyes
Could be the tonic that we need to get off our lazy butts
We are forever giving our power away to heartless dictators
Now we have to take it back and love each other if we have the guts
Or maybe the Freemasons, Illuminati and the rest of the bunch
Really do have a grand master plan that is for everyone’s benefit
Perhaps a culling of the useless eaters will serve the plane(t) well
And they will be like Jesus in the rapture, deciding who is fit
Fair play to them, there must be something in it
I have not been invited yet to join their exclusive band
I do not want to sell my soul to help build the stairway to their heaven
Anyway, the music the devil makes these days is bland
So I will lighten up about these issues as I go about my day
Although I enjoy playing with the concepts in my head and on the page
I will do my best to act from the heart and that can be my god
Even though demonising others has become all the modern rage
It is what you do with your life that should be the main priority
Are you treating people kindly or getting satisfaction from your job?
If not then instead of pointing fingers stand in front of the mirror
Ask yourself who are you serving by behaving like a knob?
You can only run for so long before you have to face your shadow
As it shows you things about yourself you would rather not see
The things that are going wrong in life individually and collectively
Are there to show us compassionately the correct way for us to be
For when we take responsibility for our actions and our thoughts
We won’t need to believe that we will be saved by a superior being
As we will have risen to the challenge that we chose in this life
That to learn we have to continuously expand our ways of seeing
We don’t need to get all of our answers from ancient books
I have found that trying to brings a great deal of frustration
We have to balance knowledge with a thirst for experience
When we bring the two together, we may have reconciliation
