Last night I drank Jurema
The sorcerer’s path to madness
Mixed in with Ayahuasca
I thought it may bring me sadness
So I only took a small portion of each
I eased myself in nice and slow
I managed to retain my sanity
I didn’t want it to disappear in one go
Tonight, I am upping the ante
I like to take things to the edge
I will increase the dosage of both
Try to observe from the ledge
Apparently, the secret is simple
As your brain melts just observe
Do not attach to the darkness
For if you do, you may lose your nerve
Why am I doing this you may ask
The answer is I really don’t know
I have a thirst for spiritual adventure
I figure this is another string to my bow
The Ayahuasca provides deep healing
What you pray for it brings you in spades
Removing the blocks in your DNA
Enables your soul to take off its shades
You can look deeper into yourself
Breaking the walls of resistance
Out of the chaos comes healing
And a newfound will of persistence
The Jurema is another kettle of fish
You feel like your brain is melting
It puts you in touch with the angelic realms
But it feels like you’re receiving a belting
This teaches you to own your own power
You need strength to stay in control
Although if you try to control it
You will go deeper into the hole
These are the tools of the warriors
Those who are called upon to serve
For we are in a spiritual crisis
We need those who can hold their nerve
I want to expand my horizons
And the new year is a good time to start
I am hoping that by taking the medicine
I will become like a pointed dart
Then I can be a shoulder to lean on
As people are forced to face themselves
For I will have experienced trauma
And at least I can be strong for myself
Cheers!
