We really enjoyed The Waterboys gig at the Royal Concert Hall just a few days before but nothing beats a gig at Glasgow Barrowland so we were both really looking forward to seeing the band there. I managed to get away early from work so we got to the Barras in good time to make sure we got our usual spot down the front.

We missed the support from The Deep Blue at the Concert Hall, although we did see them when they came on at the encore, so it was good to catch their slot before Mike and the boys came on.

The Waterboys are touring to support their new album, Life, Death and Dennis Hopper, and the middle part of the show is devoted to songs from that with some cool video footage in the background. Mike has been claiming it is their best work ever, but some fans prefer the oldies. I think the album is pretty good and the songs definitely sound good when played live.
Here are the mobile videos I shot.

I even managed to get Mike’s set list, which was handed to me by their backing singer for the tour, Barny Fletcher.
