I had already taken Emma to Belfast to see my favourite artist ever, Van Morrison, perform two nights a couple of months prior but when he announced he would be doing a Blues oriented gig with Chris Farlowe and Paul Jones, I bought some tickets and we ended up back there in a venue, Mandela Hall, just across the road from the previous one, Whitla Hall.
We got there early to make sure we got front row seats and there wasn’t a proper queue so after a bit of debacle when everyone started trying to get to the front, fortunately some folks said we were there first and let us in so we could get our seats front and centre, which we also had the second night of our previous trip.
It was such a great experience being to close to Van the Man and his fantastic band, and great to hear another setlist altogether with some great harp playing by Paul included.
