Hothouse Flowers – Glasgow Barrowland
I got the single, ‘Don’t Go’ by Hothouse Flowers when it came out and I can remember one afternoon I played it sixteen times in a row. I got their first album too and loved it.

I hadn’t heard much of The Icicle Works stuff but from what I had, I knew it would be another top gig. Part of the reason for going was because Ian said he was going to support the band with a solo set.
I saw a performance of the Bruce Springsteen song, One Step Up, by Martyn Joseph where he done spoken bit in the middle of it which blew me away. I acquired a few of his CDs and so when his original date got put back a few months, I was able to attend.
Emma discovered Ist Ist on Spotify (whatever that is), and so she treated me to their gig at Oran Mor in Glasgow. The support act, Yaang, were a little bit unusual, their frontman was anyway.
Although I am not a fan of the Hydro, I will go when the occasion calls for it, eg Mark Knopfler, The National, The Doobie Brothers and Slayer. So, My Bloody Valentine, was another one to add to the list.
We first saw Bad Nerves supporting The Darkness at Glasgow Barrowland and was immediately blown away by them so I got tickets to see Hives, there a short while later, only to see Bad Nerves support them. Then we went to KTWWH to see their first headline tour. Next up was The Art School.
