As soon as I saw there was a tribute concert called The Dubliners Encore to the fantastic Irish group, The Dubliners, it was a no brainer to get a ticket as I think they are one of the greatest bands of the last century, not least for their don’t give a fuck attitude but also their incredible soul.
Gillian Welch and David Rawlings announced their tour a while ago but it sold out quickly. Thankfully I managed to get a last minute spare ticket because the show was very special indeed.
A very fun night at La Belle Angelle watching Dave and Polly as The Lovely Eggs, Phil Jupitus as Porky the Poet and Polite Bureaux as themselves.
I took Emma to see Mary Gauthier at Saint Luke’s in Glasgow and ended up having a chat with Mary and her partner and support Jaimee Harris.
After hearing The Divine Comedy’s new album, Rainy Sunday Afternoon, I had to go and see them at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow.
